Pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. [the GUA summit] is an engaging and student-centred environment, which makes it far more approachable and enjoyable, with the opportunity to meet a wide range of peers and engage in meaningful conversations throughout. What stands out in particular is the breadth and quality of student work on display. It is both stimulating and insightful to learn about projects beyond our disciplines, especially those spanning areas such as the arts, philosophy, economics, and computer engineering. The event provided a refreshing and intellectually enriching break from usual academic routine, broadening perspective and appreciation for interdisciplinary work.

Toronto Metropolitan University's partnership with the Global Undergraduate Awards continues to highlight the exceptional talent within our undergraduate community. This collaboration provides a global stage for our students to showcase their research and be recognized for their hard work, curiosity, and innovative thinking. The TMU community is proud to see our students' contributions recognized internationally, showcasing the impact their research can have beyond the classroom.

We have collaborated with the GUA since 2016, coordinated through a dedicated university-wide engagement initiative. Over this period, AUS students have earned over 125 awards across all tiers, including Highly Commended Entrants, Regional Winners for Africa and the Middle East and multiple Global Winners, and enabled AUS students to showcase their work to an international academic audience. This sustained success reflects the strength, diversity and global competitiveness of its undergraduate scholarship.

The Global Undergraduate Awards celebrate outstanding undergraduate work and give our students the opportunity to share their scholarly research with a global audience. Recognition by the GUA connects our students to a worldwide community of emerging scholars and inspires them to contribute their ideas to academic, professional, and cross-cultural conversations that shape the future.

We believe that the unique nature of the Global Undergraduate Awards and its extensive international network is complementary to the work of DFHERIS, which will help us to realise our ambition for Ireland to be recognised as a world leader in talent, innovation and science in small advanced economies.
