The annual Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA) Global Summit is a distinguished three-day event designed for exceptional undergraduate students and esteemed academics.

The Global Undergraduate Summit is a dynamic, multi-day event that celebrates academic excellence and fosters meaningful global connections. Designed to spotlight the most exceptional undergraduate research from around the world, the Summit brings together top students and recent graduates for a unique experience of collaboration, inspiration, and professional growth.

Rooted in a commitment to sharing ideas across disciplines and borders, the Summit empowers attendees through research presentations, peer engagement, and networking opportunities. Participants explore the value of leadership and gain practical tools to develop their academic, creative, and professional ambitions.

Alongside student-led sessions, the Summit features talks and panels with inspiring speakers from diverse industries and backgrounds—offering valuable insights from their own career and academic journeys.

What to Expect at the Global Undergraduate Summit

Spanning three immersive days, the Global Undergraduate Summit offers a vibrant programme that highlights the transformative impact of undergraduate research across diverse fields. Throughout the event, our distinguished entrants present their award-winning work, sharing insights and engaging in meaningful discussions about the challenges and opportunities shaping our global future.

The Summit provides a unique platform for participants to connect with passionate, like-minded peers from around the world—building lasting networks that extend beyond academic disciplines. Look back at some of our previous Global Undergraduate Awards Summits

The Pillar Rooms at The Rotunda
Nestled within the world’s longest-running maternity hospital — where life has begun for generations since 1745 — The Pillar Rooms offer a space that blends rich history with elegant Georgian architecture. Once used as assembly rooms for music, conversation, and civic gatherings, these rooms have long been a place where people come together to inspire and be inspired.
The Royal Irish Academy
As Ireland’s leading body of experts in the sciences and humanities since 1785, the Academy has long championed knowledge, creativity, and public discourse. Its historic Dawson Street home offers a distinguished setting where academic excellence is both celebrated and advanced — the ideal space to gather global talent and honour the ideas shaping our shared future.

The GUA Global Summit Venues

Set in the heart of Dublin, Ireland, the Summit’s venues reflect the city’s rich tapestry of heritage and innovation—where academic tradition meets forward-thinking ideas.

At the heart of the Summit is the Honourable Society of King’s Inns, Ireland’s oldest legal institution, which serves as the distinguished setting for our Global Winner gala dinner. Its historic grandeur and academic legacy make it the ideal centrepiece for celebrating excellence at the highest level.

The Rotunda Pillar Rooms and the Royal Irish Academy further enrich the Summit experience, offering elegant and intellectually resonant settings that honour Dublin’s centuries-long dedication to scholarship and cultural exchange.

Complementing these historic venues are the contemporary Lighthouse Cinema and the vibrant Teeling Whiskey Distillery—spaces that capture the energy and creativity of modern Dublin. Meanwhile, The Church—a beautifully restored 18th-century landmark—welcomes attendees on their first night, setting the tone with a unique blend of heritage and hospitality.

Together, these venues invite participants to experience Dublin in all its complexity and charm—a city where old and new thrive side by side, perfectly echoing the spirit of the Summit: a celebration of academic excellence that respects the past while shaping the future.

Accomodation

Generator Dublin

Situated in the vibrant quarter of Smithfield and really close to all our main venues, Generator Dublin is located alongside the historic Jameson Distillery. With its reclaimed wood, exposed brickwork and original stonework, this unique hostel has an unruffled, industrial feel. The Generator’s ideal location coupled with excellent transport links (Dublin Bus, Luas) means that it is also close to several major attractions such as Dublin Castle, the Guinness Storehouse, and Temple Bar. This is where our Global Winners will stay (on us). The Generator is also our recommendation for other student attendees or those who want to be at the heart of the action. If you want to join them get in touch with them here and don’t forget to mention you’re here for the Global Undergraduate Awards.
