Summit Locations

Blackhall Place

Since 1978, Blackhall Place has housed the headquarters for the Law Society of Ireland, the representative and regulatory body for solicitors in the State. The building itself dates back to the 1600s, featuring substantial renovations through the centuries including fine plasterwork of the Georgian period and stained glass windows by the Irish artist, Evie Hone. This year’s UA Global Summit will give insight into this historic building and the home of an essential organisation for the legal profession.

The Honorable Society of King’s Inns

King’s Inns, Ireland’s oldest law school will be the host of this year's Gala Dinner. Located on Henrietta Street, King’s Inns was established in 1541. As an institution, it provides legal education and training for all aspiring barristers in Ireland. It is also comprised of benchers, including all those on the Supreme Court of Ireland. The Gala Dinner this year will provide a chance to see inside this historic institution, where many famous legal figures have studied over the past centuries.

The Lighthouse Cinema

The Lighthouse Cinema Dublin is a renowned independent cinema located in the heart of Smithfield, Dublin, Ireland. Known for its eclectic and diverse selection of films, it caters to a wide range of movie enthusiasts, showcasing everything from arthouse and independent films to mainstream blockbusters. The cinema's historic building, with its distinctive red-brick façade, adds to its charm and character. The Lighthouse provides a unique and immersive experience for conferences and is a cultural hub for festivals, special events, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers throughout the year.

Generator Dublin

Situated in the vibrant quarter of Smithfield, Generator Dublin is located next to the historic Jameson Distillery on Bow Street. With its reclaimed wood, exposed brickwork and original stonework, this unique hostel has an unruffled, industrial feel. The Generator’s ideal location near the city centre coupled with excellent transport links (Dublin Bus, Luas) means that it is also close to several major attractions such as Dublin Castle, the Guinness Storehouse, and Temple Bar. This is where our 25 Global Winners will stay.

Maldron Hotel Smithfield

Located just 5 minutes on foot from Blackhall Place, The Maldron Hotel boasts 92 well-appointed, contemporary guest bedrooms, including 7 superb junior suites all designed to ensure you have a pleasant stay. With many attractions within walking distance, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring Dublin.

As our official accommodation partner for the UA Global Summit 2023, attendees can avail of preferential rates at Maldron Hotel Smithfield through a unique promo code upon registration. Email us at summit@undergraduateawards to learn more.

Attendees may also make alternative accommodation arrangements if they wish.

Discover Dublin

Steeped in rich history and culture, Dublin is the contemporary centre for education, the arts, and industry in Ireland, and home to The Global Undergraduate Awards. The modest capital has grown to become one of Europe's most exciting cities. We invite you to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes that this thriving city has to offer.

Phoenix Park

Located just outside the city centre, Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed public park in Europe and home to about 400 fallow deer. The residence of the President of Ireland, Áras an Uachtaráin, built in 1754 is located in the park. Dublin Zoo, with more than 400 species and the third oldest zoo in the world is also located within the park.

Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse located in The Liberties is home to the beverage that has come to define Irish identity internationally. Learn about how the world famous stout is made and the secret to the "perfect pint" at the Gravity Bar which offers a sweeping panoramic view of Dublin's skyline.

EPIC Musuem

You won't find leprechauns or pots of gold here, but you’ll discover that what it means to be Irish expands far beyond the borders of Ireland through the stories of Irish emigrants who became scientists, politicians, poets, artists and even outlaws all over the world. Discover Ireland from the outside in and find out why saying “I’m Irish” is one of the biggest conversation starters, no matter where you are.

St Stephen's Green

Situated at the top of Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green offers a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping district. Our recommendation is to stop by Fallon and Byrne nearby on Exchequer Street to pick up a few nibbles and drinks for a nice picnic on the lush green spaces.

Temple Bar

No guide to Dublin is complete without mentioning the colourful cobbled streets of Temple Bar. During the day there are shops and galleries to discover. At night, the numerous pubs come alive with music and banter as the party spills out onto its streets and lanes.
