Work entered must have received an A grade, a 2.1, or equivalent. To find out more about international grade requirements and how to convert your grade, click here.
Students who will not have received their grade before the deadline may still submit if they received a 2.1 or higher overall grade for their most recently-completed academic year.
Maximum number of submissions
You can submit up to three papers/projects in any category combinations. You cannot submit the same work more than once, even if you submit it to different categories. Duplicate submissions may result in disqualification.
Documents submitted must be in PDF format and under 20MB.
For the Visual Arts and Architecture & Design categories, images must be in JPEG format and under 10MB.
Type of work
Submissions must have been completed in partial fulfilment of an undergraduate degree, i.e. they must have been completed as undergraduate coursework with a portion of credits for the paper/project going toward an overall undergraduate degree.
We DO NOT accept work completed on an optional programme, such as a summer school or extracurricular club.
Works submitted can have been completed at any point during your undergraduate career, once you are in your penultimate or final year at the time of submission.
With the exceptions of the Visual Art and the Architecture & Design categories, submissions MUST include some forms of academic references.
UA ONLY accepts individual papers/projects to the programme. We do not accept group submissions.
You can however, submit your individual report of a group project.
Work completed on exchange
Undergraduate work that you completed while on Erasmus or other exchange programmes are eligible for submission.
Please submit this work under the institution where it was completed rather than your home institution.
Unfortunately at the current time, UA only accepts submissions in English. However, where possible, we would encourage students who have completed work in a language other than English to translate work into English and submit the translated paper/project.
You are free to seek any guidance necessary during this translation process or use professional translation services.
We understand that quotes in other languages are a crucial part of many papers, and you can still include them as long as there is an accompanying English translation, so that all of our judges can understand them.
